Acupuncture Proves Superior to Drug Therapy
$20.00 Introductory Visit
Welcome!
My name is Dr. Tim Annis and if you're currently suffering from headaches, back or neck pain, or many other types of pain such as arthritis, menstrual cramps, sinus trouble, shoulder pain, or fibromyalgia; acupuncture in Ogden UT may very well be able to help you.
I have been helping my Ogden neighbors with chiropractic and acupuncture for over 15 years now and have been privileged to help hundreds of people in the Ogden area feel better and live healthier, more productive lives. I have often said that of all the healing arts I have studied, acupuncture has been the most helpful addition to my practice.
In fact, we have had such great results with acupuncture that I would like to introduce even more of my Ogden neighbors to the benefits of acupuncture. That's why I am offering a $20.00 intro to acupuncture special.
I would like everyone living with pain or other health problems to find out if acupuncture or chiropractic can help.
I find most of my patients don't really understand acupuncture. So here are the most common questions I get asked.
What Is Acupuncture Anyway?
Acupuncture is a system of healing based on the idea that energy pathways called meridians exist in the human body. When the energy moving through these pathways is disrupted, the function of tissue, muscles, and organs can be impaired. Careful and correct insertion of very fine needles at acupuncture points helps to correct proper energy flow and promotes healing.
Does It Hurt?
This is the most common question I get. Most people are surprised that most of the time they feel almost nothing. When you do feel something, in most cases it is about the equivalent of a mosquito bite. Once the treatment is in place most people find it very relaxing.
Does It Really Work?
The best way to answer this question is to give you the results of some studies that have been done on acupuncture.
The Italy Study
Researchers in Italy compared acupuncture to drug therapy for migraines and reported their results in the Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Patients given acupuncture experienced fewer migraine episodes, missed fewer days from work and suffered no side effects compared to patients on conventional drug therapy. They also found acupuncture to be more cost-efficient, estimating a savings of hundreds of millions of dollars in private and social health expenditures if it were used to treat headaches alone instead of drugs
- Fibromyalgia: For Fibromyalgia the Journal of Rehabilitative medicine reported: "At the end of 20 sessions, patients who received acupuncture were significantly better than the control group in all measures of pain"
- Back Pain: The holistic Nurse Practitioner reported
"Research has demonstrated that acupuncture may benefit those who suffer from back pain when they have failed to respond to previous treatment by drugs, bed rest, epidural injection, physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic, and surgery. Acupuncture is a powerful and complementary therapy for back pain."
Is It Safe?
Acupuncture needles are sterile single-use items. Millions of acupuncture treatments are provided each year with very few complications. Acupuncture is among the safest medical procedures.
How Many Sessions in Ogden UT Will I Need?
Every condition is different however most practitioners agree that an initial trial of 4-10 sessions will give a very good indication of how quickly you will progress. Serious chronic conditions typically take longer to heal while other conditions may respond amazingly quickly. We do our best to give you a realistic expectation of how long your condition may take to heal when you come in for your introductory visit.
Why Should I Try Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a fantastic tool for anyone suffering from poor health. If you are tired of conventional medicine and want to try something different, a trial of acupuncture may be for you. If you're struggling with chronic health issues that nothing seems to help you owe it to yourself to give this a test.
One thing is for sure. If you continue on the path you are on now, changing nothing, you will continue to get more of what you have now. Why not take a few minutes to investigate something new?

Sincerely,
- Dr. Tim Annis
